Signature History Tour

Generic Tour Photo

Glasnevin Cemetery was established by Irish Statesman Daniel O'Connell in 1832.  Key figures from Irish history and culture have been laid to rest within these grounds: Michael Collins, Charles Stewart Parnell, Éamon de Valera, Countess Markievicz, Maud Gonne and Brendan Behan, to name but a few.  The site spans 124 acres, boasting a vast array of ornate sculptures, Celtic crosses and stunning flowers & trees.

A guided tour will allow you to explore Ireland's History Carved in Stone.

Tour Guide Training Programme for Adult Leaners

Visit Glasnevin Cemetery Museum over two days and learn the skills of a tour guide. Participants will work closely with one of our experienced tour guides to further develop the skills of research, writing and public speaking; while also exploring the history of 19th and 20th century Ireland. The first visit is the training portion of the programme, and on the second visit each participant steps into the shoes of the tour guide and performs, informs and entertains.

This programme is already a feature of many third level courses.  Please see the document below for further information.
