We are delighted to have been awarded a Hall of Fame Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor this year. The accolade was awarded based on the fact that Glasnevin Cemetery Museum has received a certificate of excellence every year for the past five years so now we have been inducted into the hall of fame. While we might be a while away from getting a star on the path in Hollywood, our museum staff and tour guides deserve a huge well done for their hard work.

I've lived in Ireland for sixteen years and read a fair amount about its history but still heard some new stuff on the tour. We did the basic tour so we'd get a feel for where things were and what it was all about but I have a feeling I'll be back to do the alternative tour at some stage. There's an awful lot to look at -if you like graveyards. The guide was really knowledgeable and was able to find some connection for everyone in our group -you're from Italy? There's a story about Daniel O'Connell for you. You're from Canada? There's a different story. The stories really made the tour but there's plenty of standard history as well. Make time for wandering about on your own as well -there's a great atmosphere in the cemetery and it's huge. It's also right next Botanic Gardens and you can walk through the cemetery to the gardens so we combined the trip. Excellent morning out.
This should surely be on everybody's list when visiting Dublin. It has the highest round tower in the country and the story behind it is one of the best ever heard. Not to be missed!
Spent two days in Dublin of my 9 day trip to Ireland in April. The tour of this cemetery turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of Ireland. We took the 2:30 tour and our guide clearly was passionate and knowledgeable about Irish history, and very funny. Highly recommended!!
