An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, will unveil the initial phase of the Necrology Wall at a ceremony in Glasnevin Cemetery on Sunday, April 3rd 2016.
The essence of a Necrology Wall is remembrance, based on historical fact, in a non-judgemental, non-hierarchical manner, of each and every person who died as a result of a conflict.
1000 Public Tickets in total were made available to the public since Friday March 18th, these allow entry into the public standing area in the Cemetery. This viewing area will be fitted with large screens televising the event. You must have a valid ticket to access this area. Strictly one ticket per person. ID will be required. The Public Ticket gate will open at 9.30am and close at 10am. There is no guarantee of entry after this time. All Tickets are now allocated for this event.
For those not attending, full coverage will be available on RTE from 10.45am
Due to this event, the Cemetery and Museum will be closed for the morning of Sunday the 3rd. Cemetery access and the Museum will open at 2pm (Apologies for any inconvenience caused)
Please note: Those travelling to the event should do so by public transport, as parking will not be available and road closures will be in place.
