Welcome to the website of Glasnevin Cemetery Museum

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Glasnevin Trust in celebration of Irish language week will offer tours of the cemetery in Irish. Tour will be led by Glasnevin Trust Tour Guide Paddy Gleeson.

In Glasnevin Cemetery, where over one million stories are buried in the ground, our nation's heroes rest alongside thousands of Dubliners. We want to share their stories with you.

Join us at Glasnevin Cemetery Museum as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge for this unique opportunity to tour the cemetery through our own native tongue. Led by our tour guide Paddy Gleeson, you will visit the graves of the men and women who have shaped our country and inspired a love of the Irish language in the generations who followed them.

As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, Glasnevin Cemetery Museum are also launching an Irish language museum guide which will allow visitors to explore the cemetery's history in further detail through Irish.

Please note that tours of the cemetery will be held at the weekends for Seachtain na Gaeilge:

Saturday 8th March and Sunday 9th March at 1pm

Saturday 15th March and Sunday 16th March at 1pm

Is í Reilig Glasnaíon, áit a bhfuil milliúin scéal curtha sa talamh, a luíonn laochra na hÉireann taobh leis na mílte Bleá Cliathach. Ba mhaith linn a scéil a roinnt libhse.

Bígí linn i Reilig Glasnaíon mar chuid de Sheachtain na Gaeilge beidh deis leithleach ag cuairteoirí turais a dhéanamh den reilig inár dteanga dúchais. Le Paddy Gleeson duine dár dtreoraí, tabharfaidh tú cuairt ar uaigheanna na bhfear agus na mban a chrúthaigh ár dtír agus a spreag grá don Ghaeilge i measc na nglúin a tháinig ina ndiaidh.

Mar chuid de chéiliúradh Sheachtain na Gaeilge seolfar leagan Gaeilge de threoirleabhar an mhusaeim rud a thabharfaidh deis do dhaoine iniúchadh a dhéanamh ar stair na reilige trí Ghaeilge.

Beidh na turais reilige ar siúl ag an deireadh seachtaine le linn Sheachtain na Gaeilge.
