Commemorate the Easter Rising in Glasnevin Cemetery with a Revolutionary Tour
Ninety-eight years ago on the streets of Dublin seven men marched a small army of Irish men and women to the steps of the GPO. Together they launched a revolution in pursuit of a common vision that Ireland might be free. This dream was an age-old one passed from generation to generation. The United Irishmen gave it substance; Wolfe Tone defined it; Emmett, the Young Irelanders and the Fenians strove to achieve it.
The battle of Easter 1916 raged for six days and nights, and resulted in the destruction of many parts of our fair city. Many who participated in Ireland's fight for independence were laid to rest here within the walls of Glasnevin Cemetery.
This Easter relive their stories and pay homage at the gravesides of the heroes and heroines who changed our nation's course irrevocably.
1916 Tours last an hour and a half and visit the graves of Daniel O'Connell, Charles Stewart Parnell, Éamon DeValera, Michael Collins, Harry Boland, Countess Markievicz and many more.
Tours also include a Re-enactment of the surrender given by Nurse Elizabeth O'Farrell.
