Bloomsday June 16th 2010

Bloomsday has become something of a tradition for Joyce devotees, who follow the epic journey of Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus, in full costume, through the streets and bars of Dublin.

On June 16th 2010, Historian to Glasnevin Trust, Shane MacThomais will be leading a tour in the footsteps of Bloom through Glasnevin Cemetery, Ireland’s Necropolis. Along the way we will meet some of the people who feature in the life and works of James Joyce.

This special tour will start at 11am outside the main entrance to Glasnevin Museum and costs €5.00. The Glasnevin Museum Shuttle bus will be picking up from Parnell Square at 10.40am for this tour(€3.00 return).

Glasnevin Trust has also produced a commemorative Exhibition on Literary Glasnevin, located on the ground floor of Glasnevin Museum, beside the Café. There is also a Literary Glasnevin map available to purchase in the Glasnevin Trust Shop.

After the Tour why not treat yourself to a Gorgonzola sandwich and a glass of burgundy in the Tower Café.
