<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>So would you like to be a Tour Guide?</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sunday 13th</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> May at 15.00 (Part 1)</span> Tour Guiding Workshop. This event is open to members of the public and to groups. Booking is essential and must be made in advance by contacting the museum on 882 6550 or museum@glasnevintrust.ie Max of 20 per workshop. More workshops can be added if there is a demand. Each member who completes the Workshop will receive a certificate of Completion from Glasnevin Museum. Cost €6.00 per person.</p>

<p>Glasnevin Museum will offer a Tour Guiding Workshop in two parts to participants of Bealtaine. Members of the Workshop will be provided with training in Customer Service and on the techniques of tour guiding e.g. presentation, delivery, content, managing the group, and body language. This session will conclude with a short guided tour of Glasnevin Cemetery, where the techniques discussed will be demonstrated. Each member of the Workshop will be given the name of a personality buried in the cemetery. For the next two weeks, they will prepare for presenting their own guided tour of the cemetery which will take place on <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sunday 27th May at 15.00 (Part 2)</span> to members of the museum team and their own family and friends.</p>

<p><strong>WHERE:     GLASNEVIN CEMETERY, Dublin</strong></p>
<p><strong>WHAT:</strong>          Ceremonies attended by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan TD, to honour the originators of the National Flag &amp; Anthem of the Republic Of Ireland who are interred in Glasnevin Cemetery.</p>
<p><strong>Edward Hollywood (1814-1873):</strong> Silkweaver and member of the three man delegation that returned to Ireland from France in 1848 with the first Irish tricolour.</p>
<p><strong>Peadar Kearney (1883-1942)</strong>: Republican and songwriter who wrote the lyrics to Amhrán na bhFiann in 1907.</p>
<p>The Minister will be accompanied by John Green, Chairman, Glasnevin Trust in a ceremony involving the raising of the tricolour in honour of both men’s commitment to a Republic.</p>
<p>Wreaths will also be laid at both men’s graves.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There will be a Tour of Glasnevin Cemetery As Gaeilge on <strong>Sunday 11<sup>th</sup> March at 3pm</strong>. </p>

Ticket Price €10.00 (Combined Tour &amp; Museum Visit)/ €9.00 concession.  €6.00 for the Cemetery Tour Only/ €5.00 concession.<br />
The tour is our Historical Tour and will include access to the crypt of Daniel O’Connell, a visit to Parnell, De Valera, the Republican Plot, Collins…but to name a few.</p>
<p>Our resident Gaelgoir, Patrick Gleeson, will be delivering the tour on the day. Groups of 10+ who wish to avail of a Private Tour As Gaeilge during Seachtain na Gaeilge should please get in touch with the dates and times and we will do our best to accommodate them. </p>

This interactive visitor attraction offers a fascinating view of Ireland’s Necropolis and the many renowned figures that shaped the country we live in today. A visit to the museum and a tour of the cemetery is a must see for anyone interested in Irish Heritage and <a href="http://www.glasnevintrust.ie/genealogy/">Genealogy</a>. The exhibition over two floors shows the social, historical, political and artistic development of modern Ireland through the lives of the generations buried in Ireland’s necropolis.</p>
